Shape depends on where the sticker is going

The right sticker shape usually comes down to where it will actually be stuck, on packaging, a window, a product, or a vehicle, rather than personal preference alone. A shape that suits a jar lid won't necessarily work on a shop window or a van door.

Round, square and rectangle stickers

Round and square stickers are the most common choice for product labels, packaging and general branding, since they're straightforward to apply neatly and read clearly at most sizes. Rectangle stickers suit longer text or a wider logo that doesn't fit comfortably into a round or square shape.

Custom die-cut shapes

A custom die-cut sticker follows the exact outline of your logo or design rather than sitting inside a plain background shape, which gives a more distinctive, professional look for branding, product stickers or promotional giveaways. It costs a little more to produce than a standard shape, since it needs a shape cut specifically for that design.

Vehicle and window stickers

Vehicle stickers need a material and adhesive that copes with washing, weather and UV exposure over time without fading or peeling, which is different from a sticker designed for indoor packaging. Window stickers, whether for a shop front or a car, are often printed to be readable from outside while still letting light through where needed.

Sheets, rolls or individual stickers

Stickers can be supplied as individual cut pieces, on sheets, or on a roll for dispensing one at a time, and the right format depends on how they'll be used. A small personal or gift order usually works fine as individual stickers, while a business applying stickers regularly to packaging or products benefits from a roll that's quicker to peel and apply one after another. Sheets work well when several different designs or sizes are needed together, for example a set of matching stickers for a product range or a party.
