Photo printing is judged on accuracy and detail in a way most of our other print isn't, colour needs to match what you expect, and detail needs to hold up at whatever size you're printing to, so source image quality matters more here than for almost any other product on this site.

Paper finish changes how a photo looks and feels: gloss gives punchy, vibrant colour and works well for most photos, matte reduces glare and shows fewer fingerprints but can slightly mute colour intensity, and a textured or fine art paper suits a more considered, gallery-style print.

Image resolution for enlargements

For enlargements beyond a standard photo size, check your original image resolution before ordering, a photo taken on an older phone or a heavily cropped image may not hold up at a large size the way a high-resolution original would.

If you're printing a set of photos for a gallery wall or display, consistent colour and finish across the whole set matters more than any single print, so order them together rather than printing individual photos separately over time.
