What these are typically used for

A memorial card is usually a small keepsake handed out at a funeral or service, carrying a photo, name and dates, sometimes with a short verse or message. An order of service sheet sets out the structure of the service itself, readings, hymns or music, and the names of those speaking, and is given to each attendee as they arrive.

Timing

These are almost always needed on a fixed date that can't move, so we treat memorial printing as a priority job and can usually turn it around quickly once we have the final wording and any photo you want included. It helps to confirm the order of service content as early as you're able to, since final changes are easier to make with more notice.

What to bring or send

A clear photo, if one is being used, the wording for the front and inside of the card, and the order of the service itself, readings, music and names, are the main things we need. Memorial cards are usually printed on a slightly heavier card stock so they hold up as a keepsake, with a matte finish that most families prefer over a glossy one. Order of service sheets are typically printed as a folded booklet on a lighter paper, since they're read once during the service rather than kept long-term.

Ordering extra copies afterwards

It's common for families to want a few extra memorial cards after the service, for relatives who couldn't attend or as a keepsake kept for later. We keep the artwork on file so extra copies can be printed afterwards without needing to resend the photo and wording again. If you're not sure how many to order initially, it's usually easier to order a modest first run and come back for more once you have a better idea of numbers attending.
